 At the turn of the century, members of the honorable Mason family discovered a small patch of land in a verdant valley. Here, flowers grew in more colors than the rainbow. The nearby river flowed with clarity and freshness. The very air seemed to sparkle, enlivening the spirit with each breath. And the native honeybees, the Apis Mellifera, produced the sweetest honey anyone had ever tasted. The Masons, who were known and respected for their many achievements in all the various arts, chose sixteen families whose members were as talented and worthy as themselves.
